Ross O’Meara
Ross O’Meara is an abstract artist who predominantly works with paint, inks, copic markers and posca pens. He uses a very considered technique and places a substantial emphasis on layering to create a tapestry of colourful dimensions which produces a joyous and celebratory effect.
He has been painting for more than 15 years and he has been part of several exhibitions. His work has sold both locally and internationally.
Ross typically works on paper, but has also undertaken some large scale murals.
Ross was born with Down syndrome and has lived his entire life in Melbourne. He is 62 years old. He lives in a care home in Kew. His home (as well as his garden) is full of his art.
Ross is part of Arts Project Australia in Northcote, and also creates with his favourite art buddy Kristian Glynn. Ross and Kristian currently meet at Alphington Community Centre.
Ross has previously been part of art programs run by Interact, NMIT and ILS.
