Spring gardening

Like many, our garden at home has been getting a bit of extra love and attention lately. With work and children etc. we’re generally running around like headless chooks, and so our garden gets neglected … it’s been pretty nice to have the time to plant some things and then tend them this year …

Hello snow peas.

And hello future apricots.

We’ve also currently got passionfruit, chilli, parsley, rhubarb, silverbeet, red currants and mulberries that are all looking promising.

What’s been happening in your garden?

From little things big things grow …

From little things big things grow …

So … with our new ramp came some new plants.

They arrived last week and they’ve now been planted. We chose to plant herbs, so that they become a community resource once they’re established. When they’ve grown you’re most welcome to pop past and cut some for your pasta sauce or roast! There’s lots of thyme and oregano across the front. Mint behind the ramp at the back. A patch of sage and tarragon under the blackboard sign. And some rosemary under the windows.

And then some nice smelly things like lavender and lemony geraniums - to cheer us up as we walk into work each day!

Restocked and ready to rock and roll

Our book library was back … and then it disappeared again … and now it is permanently back. Hooray.

And it has been restocked with lots of books for kids and adults.

Pop past and check it out!

And, while on the subject of books, have you read anything you’d recommend lately? It would be great to get some suggestions together for a community post about good books. So, please comment with your recommendations if you are reading on Facebook or Instagram … or send us an email by clicking here.
