community meals

We regularly run programs where the community comes together over food. You can help us prepare the food for these events, set up the space, help with dishes or help pack up. If you’d like to be involved in helping us run great community building activities please call or email.

Be connected device advice

If you have some computer skills yourself and would like to share them with community members who are not yet confident navigating their phones, computer and tablets you could become a Device Advice tutor. Give us a call.

aaa bowls

For 6 weeks each term we run access all abilities bowls in partnership with, and, at Alphington Bowls Club. Each week we need 4 people help Mark and Jill get the equipment out and pack it away, direct traffic, make morning tea.

gardening group

Help keep our garden ship-shape. We have a group of volunteers who come together on a Friday morning to manage our garden. If you’d like to get involved please call our office or join the group here.

Community Cooking

If you’re interested in helping turn local produce into jams and preserves or meals for people in the community who are doing it tough, please give us a call.

When we preserve we use donated jars, actively recycling and minimising food waste and ‘food miles’ and we sell our jams and preserves at our big events, use them for gifts and send a jar home with each person who comes along.

Letterboxing

Twice a year we letterbox our brochure. If you enjoy a walk around the neighbourhood you might like to help us. Just email and we’ll add you to the list and then contact you at the right time.
