A message from Village Greening...

A message from Village Greening ….

Hey coffee aficionados! Are you ready to sip sustainably? Three Locals have teamed up with Village Greening and throughout this entire month, we’re encouraging everyone to make the switch from disposable cups to reusable ones. It’s a small change that can make a big difference for our planet!

Here’s what you can expect:

Every time you remember your reusable cup or use one of Three Locals Wangim cups, you can go into the draw to win a voucher for 20 coffees.

We will end the campaign with a Reusable Cup Day on 2nd July - a whole day of using only reusable cups!

Share your reusable cup journey on social media and don’t forget to tag us.

Together, we can make Reusable Cup Month a huge success and create a lasting impact on our environment. So grab your favourite cup, head to Three Locals, and let’s sip sustainably!

Donations to ACC

We are so grateful for the support of the local community.

And we love donations … but we do ask for you to check in with us that we need them first - just give us a call 📞 or drop them off when we are on site for a chat, 9am-3.30pm Monday to Friday.

At the moment we’re very keen on:

  • stocking our mini op shop - so if you have a few quality household items looking for a new home, think of us!

  • plants - we’ve got some new beds to plant out so if you are refreshing your garden for autumn think of us! We like usable things … herbs, small fruit trees, lovely cut flowers, hardy low maintenance things that will survive a lack of love over summer etc.

  • 8ply+ wool for our knitters.

Looking forward to seeing you soon. And thanks.

Mayoral visit etc.

It was super lovely to welcome our colleague Kathy Vrettas from Yarra City Council to our community morning on Friday. And we were delighted that she brought along Cr Edward Crosslands who is the new Yarra Mayor.

The Yarra neighbourhood houses have such a great relationship with Council, and we are always thrilled when staff and councillors come along so we can show off all the exciting things we have been up to - and that deliver on our shared strategic objectives to create great services for our local community.

And … to mark the occasion … I FINALLY took a photo of some of our crafting friends who come along on Fridays with GenU. They have been coming for at least 6 months now, and we really look forward to them attending each week. Such nice people!

If you are interested in craft or gardening - with a good dose of socialising thrown in - our community mornings might be just right for you too! Come along from 10am. All welcome. Lunch is at 12pm.

Remaining spots for our book clubs

Hello book readers,

We have three spots available for anyone that would like to join a Book Club.

  • Monday 3rd book club - one spot available

  • Tuesday 3rd book club - two spots available

As the names suggest, these book clubs meet on the third Monday and the third Tuesday of each month respectively. The book clubs meet here at our centre at 7pm and take home a book for the month - 10 for the year.

There is an annual fee of $60 to cover book hire from Darebin Libraries and administration from our end.

You can join here.
