My favourite dahl
Hi Kalimna here. My favourite dahl isn’t from a recipe book. Instead it is from watching my talented mother-in-law cook. She measure things with her hands and judges if it’s the right amount by sight. She stirs, tastes and then adds a sprinkle more.
I have learnt from her and I now have a few dishes where I do as she does - throwing in what I think is missing and cooking by taste and sight.
None of my cook books show me this.
Learning from someone who has made these meals so often and has grown up eating them and just knows how it should be is a real eye opener!
Better than any cooking show on TV.
